Packers DC Hafley praises new acquisition S McKinney

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WMTV) – The Packers’ offseason program is progressing to the point where the veterans are out of the classroom and onto the field for individual drills.

While we already saw the rookies on the field at last week’s minicamp, we are still a couple weeks away from seeing the new veterans in action, like safety Xavier McKinney. The newest addition to the secondary played his college ball at Alabama and comes to Green Bay from the Giants.

The prized free agent acquisition seems to be a perfect fit for new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s news scheme. Hafley sang his praises of McKinney in a recent press conference.

“What a pro!” Hafley said on McKinney. “How hard he works, the communication, the way he is in meeting rooms, the way he looks out for the younger guys. I mean that’s the stuff you don’t see. All the stuff I explained to you in my first meeting, we think he can do all of those things and he’s shown that he can. You don’t find out really about somebody, who they are, and how hard they work until they get here. That’s the thing that’s probably made us the happiest.”

The NFL will release the 2024 schedule next Wednesday.
