OG Anunoby OUT for rest of Game 2 vs. Pacers with hamstring injury

Update: It’s officially a hamstring injury for Anunoby, and he will not return to Game 2.

New York Knicks small forward OG Anunoby suffered a leg injury in the third quarter of Wednesday’s Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers. It’s possible Anunoby could be dealing with cramps but he did go back to the locker room for further evaluation.

Anunoby has been highly impactful offensively with 28 points prior to departing, keeping the Knicks afloat while Jalen Brunson dealt with a hand injury. The star point guard eventually did return to the contest and the Knicks went on a run to take a lead in this game but they’ll need Anunoby for defensive purposes to close this thing out.

In the event that Anunoby cannot come back, the Knicks don’t have too much depth at the wing spots with Bojan Bogdanovic done for the year. New York could go smaller with Alec Burks and Miles McBride, which would likely be the course of action given how the team has been playing for most of the second half of the season. We’ll see if Anunoby is able to come back in this game.
