Is something Taylor Swift happening in Central New York?

The Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, N.Y., whipped Swifties into a frenzy on Sunday with a cryptic post on social media. “We’ve got a big reputation,” Turning Stone’s official X (formerly Twitter) account wrote to its 10,000 followers.

The tweet featured a black heart emoji and a black-and-white photo of the casino with its “TS” logo. It also included the hashtag #IYKYK, an acronym for “If you know, you know.”

Wait, what does the Turning Stone know? Could Swift perform at the Turning Stone Event Center? Will there be some sort of Swift-themed event, like “Dancing with the Stars” did earlier this month? Will Travis Kelce propose to Swift and get married at the casino? What, what, WHAT?!?

“What do you know?” one fan responded.

“What is happening?” another wrote.

The Turning Stone’s social media post went viral, generating 1.5 million views on X since Sunday night. Screenshots were also shared on Facebook, Instagram, and other sites, as Swift fans speculated about the rumored release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version),” an upcoming album that will feature re-recorded versions of songs from her “Reputation” album. After all, “Turning Stone Resort” and “Taylor Swift Reputation” have the same initials: “TSR.”

But no, Taylor Swift is not coming to Syracuse or Central New York —“The Eras Tour” has been selling out NFL stadiums bigger than CNY’s largest ticketed venue, the JMA Wireless Dome. The Turning Stone also has no Swift events scheduled. And “Reputation TV” has yet to be released, despite hopes it would come out Sunday.

“We were just having fun, in anticipation of announcing her new album,” a rep for the Turning Stone admitted to syracuse.com | The Post-Standard.

The Turning Stone, which has previously joked “The TS actually stood for Taylor Swift this whole time,” also tried to let fans know they were just teasing Sunday. A follow-up tweet advertised “all kinds of rooms available, including ones in very tall somethings,” a reference to lyrics in Swift’s song “Is It Over Now?” — with clown emojis superimposed over the casino photo.

Swifties in Upstate New York know all too well they can still enjoy their favorite artist. Swift will perform multiple concerts in Toronto, just a 4-hour drive from Syracuse, and she announced Monday that “The Eras Tour” movie will be released on demand next month with three extra songs.

“Hi! Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!” Swift said. “Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including ‘Wildest Dreams,’ ‘The Archer’ and ‘Long Live’ will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon starting on … you guessed it, December 13.”

The concert film will be available to rent via streaming services like Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Xfinity, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu, according to USA Today.

CNY fans can also get a unique experience with “Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift” on Dec. 14 at the Palace Theatre in Eastwood and Jan. 19, 2024, at the Schafer Theater on the Mohawk Valley Community College campus in Utica. The live, “multi-sensory musical experience” will feature the Listeso String Quartet performing versions of Swift hits like “Love Story,” “Blank Space,” “Anti-Hero,” “Lover,” “Wildest Dreams” and “You Belong with Me.”
