International law firm Orrick has welcomed partner Josh Beser to its New York office technology companies group.

Prior to joining the firm, Beser held a partner position at Wilson Sonsini and has over a decade of in-house experience guiding a range of life sciences, consumer brand and technology companies, such as Away, Crossbeam, Topline Pro and Earth Breeze.

Beser has represented high-growth technology companies and their investors in a range of corporate matters, including venture and growth capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, corporate and securities law, secondary offerings, and corporate formations.

He has guided company leaders and founders at venture-backed companies through scaling up and has acted as primary outside counsel for various companies, from early-stage financing through exit. Beser has also acted as outside general counsel to organisations as they reach growth inflection points.

Orrick’s global technology companies group co-leader Josh Pollick said of the hire: “Josh is a leader in the New York tech and VC community, and we are thrilled to add his talent to our fast-growing New York platform. He offers clients the practical operational advice companies need today — drawing on his decade of experience as a successful operator.”

Commenting on his new role Beser added: “I’m excited by Orrick’s growth in New York and globally, and I’m looking forward to working with new colleagues like Samir Bakhru, Max Cantor, Jake Ornstein and Stephen Thau to continue this momentum. The sector-focused talent the firm has assembled across specialities and markets means we can solve legal and commercial issues in a way that adds real value for our clients.”
