OG Anunoby injury update for Pacers clash after embarrassing Knicks playoff loss

NEW Yorks Knicks fans are sweating over the fitness of OG Anunoby after an embarrassing loss.

The Indiana Pacers roared to a 121-89 victory to level the NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs series at 2-2.

And the latest Anunoby update could pour cold water on their hopes.

The forward, 26, is with the team but only doing “pool work” as he bids to recover from a strained hamstring, admitted coach Tom Thibodeau.

Anunoby suffered the injury in Game 2 of the semis as he pulled up in the third quarter of a Knicks victory.

He missed back-to-back losses and seems unlikely to take the court tomorrow for Game 5.

He missed Games 3 and 4 — both Knicks losses — and the update from Thibodeau does not look positive.

The Knicks are 26-5 with Anunoby in the lineup and 13-16 without him.

“OG was gone for a good chunk of the season,” Thibodeau said after the embarrassing performance.

“So that’s no excuse. Just get it done.”

“We’ve been through this [rehab process before], it doesn’t change. That’s why we have routines for everything,” Thibodeau said on why Anunoby traveled to Indiana.

“So if you get nicked up in a game, your rehab is basically your game. So just lock into that.

“Get treatment three times a day, and just keep working at that. That’s where it is right now.”

The Knicks started Precious Achiuwa in place of Anunoby but he was benched at the start of the second half.

Miles McBride took over but shot 6 of 17 for the game.

Stephen A. Smith predicted prior to the postseason that his Knicks would reach the Conference finals.

But during NBA Countdown’s half-time show, he tore into the team for its lackluster showing.

“The first thing I would do is get out of the bathroom,” Smith fumed, after being asked about Knicks coach Thibodeau’s first half-time job.

“Because I just finished throwing up after watching my team play the way that they played in the first half.

“It was absolutely positively awful.”

The Knicks were leading 2-0 in the series when fans think they were cursed by one of their own.
