New York Giants unveil alternate uniforms for 100th season | Sporting News

The New York Giants unveiled the alternate uniforms they will wear during the 2024 campaign Thursday, celebrating the 100th season as a franchise.

Paying homage to the past, the alternate uniforms bring back the red jerseys the Giants used to wear with a twist. Every part of the uniform is a tribute to a past setting in Giants history.

The organization opted for historical accuracy rather than aesthetics, which is surely going to be a hot topic of conversation on social media.

Parts of the uniform each pay homage to the past. The tan pants are similar to the 1925 uniform. The jersey resembles what it looked like in 1933, and the helmet pays homage to the 1938 uniform.

Here’s a statement from the Giants:

The uniform platform is presented by United Airlines and is the culmination of a two-year process in partnership with the NFL. The uniform harkens back to the earliest days of the franchise featuring tan pants; red socks with blue and white stripes from the team’s inaugural 1925 season; red jerseys accented with blue from 1933, when the Giants played in the first ever NFL Championship Game; and an iconic winged helmet honoring the 1938 champions as the Giants became a cornerstone in the foundation of the league. All of the team’s 2024 jerseys will feature the team’s “100 Seasons” patch.

It isn’t clear when the Giants will don these uniforms in 2024, but they may wear them up to two times during the season.
