New York Giants select Tyler Nubin with 47th pick in 2024 NFL Draft | Sporting News

The New York Giants selected Minnesota safety Tyler Nubin with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

With the selection the Giants received from the trade deadline deal with the Seattle Seahawks that included defensive tackle Leonard Williams, the Giants added arguably the best safety in the class.

After using the No. 6 pick in the first round on wide receiver Malik Nabers, the Giants addressed arguably their biggest need at the safety position.

Nubin is arguably the best safety in the class, and it address a major need for the Giants. He has the versatility to play as a free safety or near the line of scrimmage on the strong side. He plays with strong instincts and a lot of toughness against the run.

Nubin showed off exceptional ball skills with 13 career interceptions and 24 passes defensed in 55 games (44 starts) at Minnesota.

Adding to the safety room was probably the biggest need for the Giants in the draft, but the positional value wasn’t all that high with this crop of safeties coming into the league.
