Milwaukee Bucks fans have been waiting for news about Khris Middleton’s concerning ankle injury. The three-time All-Star exited Tuesday’s loss against the Phoenix Suns early in the first quarter and was unable to return. He was then seen exiting the arena in a walking boot and crutches.
Since the injury, Middleton has missed Milwaukee’s last two games, and it now appears that he could be out for an even longer period with this latest issue.
Milwaukee Bucks Coach Doc Rivers Provides Update on Khris Middleton
Bucks head coach Doc Rivers spoke to the press on Sunday after practice as the team prepares for Monday’s marquee matchup against the defending champs Denver Nuggets. Naturally, reporters wanted to get an update on the status of Middleton, to which the tenured shot-caller responded by saying that the 6-foot-7 small forward was unable to practice with the squad on Sunday (h/t Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel).
Moreover, Rivers described Middleton’s injury as a “bad ankle sprain” and that right now, there is no timetable for his return.
That’s obviously not the most encouraging update about Middleton, who has had his fair share of long-term injuries in the past couple of years. At this point, it’s hard to tell how long he will be out this time around, but given how cautious the Bucks have been with injuries to their players, it would not be a surprise if the 32-year-old ends up sitting out until the All-Star break.
Fans will now be hoping that Middleton will be healthy enough to return on February 23 as the Bucks return from the mid-season break to battle the Minnesota Timberwolves.
