Matt LaFleur Gets Real on Green Bay Packers’ Hard-Fought Win Vs. Los Angeles Chargers

Published

After last week’s tough loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Green Bay Packers were in dire need of a win on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. It was a tough battle throughout but in the end, it was Green Bay who scraped out a hard-fought victory, 23-20.

The Packers fell behind in this one a couple of times, but they flexed their resilience as they took down a determined Charges side at Lambeau Field for a much-needed victory.

After the contest, a relieved Matt LaFleur got brutally honest about his team’s win over the Chargers. The Packers shot-caller also sounded off on the considerable steps his team has been taking throughout the season:

“Well, it certainly feels good to be on the other side of one of these tight ballgames,” LaFleur said, viaJason Wilde of The Journal Times.

“… Obviously, it feels really good. You can move the ball and if you come out on the wrong side, it’s for nothing, because it’s a team game. … But I think we can all see the improvement.”

The Packers return to action on Thursday in a divisional matchup against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field. LaFleur noted how important this victory over Los Angeles was ahead of their quick turnaround:

“It helps these guys believe that they can find a way to do it. So that’s always rewarding,” LaFleur said. “Certainly, especially on a short week when it is a tight turnaround (against) a team that’s handled us quite frankly the last few times we’ve played them, I do think it gives our guys just a little boost.”

The Packers are now 4-6 and are still holding out hope that they will be able to secure a spot in the postseason this term.
