The Indiana Pacers (7-5) and Atlanta Hawks (6-6) face off in NBA in-season tournament action Tuesday. Tip-off from State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Pacers vs. Hawks odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; Hawks won 2-1 last season

Indiana suffered a 128-116 loss vs. the Orlando Magic Sunday, failing to cover as a 4.5-point favorite. The Pacers could not seem to get much offense going in the loss, shooting only 25.8% from long range while none of their 5 starters eclipsed 15 points.

The Hawks have lost 2 straight after falling 126-116 vs. the Philadelphia 76ers Friday, failing to cover as 1.5-point underdogs. Atlanta is 0-2 ATS in the last 2 games and the Over is 2-0. The Hawks continue to see little production from their star backcourt as Trae Young and Dejounte Murray combined for only 35 points and 16 assists in the loss.

Pacers at Hawks picks and predictions

Prediction

Pacers 128, Hawks 124

Moneyline

LEAN PACERS (+135).

All of the stars for the Hawks are having down years shooting the ball, and when playing a team as offensively dominant as this Pacers squad, the Hawks can’t afford for anyone to have a bad game. Indiana is also 4-2 in its last 6 games overall while the Hawks are 2-4. This game will be a shootout and games like that favor the Pacers as their only slight weakness offensively comes in transition.

Against the spread

BET PACERS +3.5 (-110).

The Pacers are 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games while the Hawks are 1-5 ATS during their last 6. Indiana has also covered ATS in 2 of its last 3 matchups with Atlanta. The Hawks are a much sloppier team than Indiana as they turn the ball over 14.8 times per game compared to Indiana’s 12.5, and that small margin will make it easy for the Pacers to cover here.

Over/Under

BET OVER 250.5 (-110).

The Over is 11-1 for Indiana on the season and has hit in 9 consecutive games for the Pacers. The Over is also 7-3 in Atlanta’s last 10 and 3-0 in Atlanta’s last 3 overall, while also being 9-1 in the last 10 Atlanta-Indiana matchups. Each of these teams is strong offensively but weaks defensively, so even with a number as high as 250.5, the Over is still a safe bet.
