The New York Giants revealed their 100th anniversary throwback uniforms Thursday, dubbing them “Century Red.”

In a video posted on X, the Giants showed off their new threads, noting that they will be worn “up to two times” during the 2024 season:

The Giants divulged that the uniforms are something of a mashup, combining elements from what the team wore in the 1920s and 1930s:

This coming season will mark the Giants’ 100th as an NFL franchise, as they began play back in 1925.

Sports fans may notice that the Giants’ throwback unis are reminiscent of other iconic teams in some respects.

The jerseys look quite similar to the ones worn by the 24-time Stanley Cup champion Montreal Canadiens with a main color of red accompanied by a blue and white stripe across the middle.

Meanwhile, the helmets are almost an exact replica of those worn by the Michigan Wolverines football team, just with royal blue and red coloring rather than navy blue and yellow.

The Giants have missed the playoffs in six of the past seven seasons, and they are coming off a highly disappointing 6-11 record in 2023 after surprisingly reaching the postseason and winning a playoff game in 2022.

Quarterback play was a huge issue for the G-Men last season, as Daniel Jones missed most of the year due to injury and was largely ineffective when he did play.

Even so, Jones is the favorite to start in 2024, although general manager Joe Schoen did bring in Drew Lock for competition.

This coming season will also mark the start of life after Saquon Barkley after the star running back signed with the NFC East rival Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

There is reason for optimism on the offensive side of the ball, though, thanks to the arrival of explosive LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was the No. 6 pick in the 2024 draft.

The Giants will begin their 2024 regular-season slate with a home game against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 8.
