Giants star makes a very confident statement about himself ahead of 2024 NFL season

The New York Giants have a quiet strength on their defense. It’s the linebacker room. Bobby Okereke headlines the unit, but Micah McFadden emerged as a legitimate contributor last season, and Isaiah Simmons has been a nice, versatile piece for New York’s defense. 

Their linebacker group was ranked fifth in the NFL by Pro Football Focus. They received that respect earlier this offseason, and it’s deserved. Now, one of them is emerging as a vocal leader in the locker room, too.

The Giants are solid at their starting linebacker spots. Bobby Okereke’s 78.9 PFF grade ranked 13th at the position in 2023, and Micah McFadden came in at No. 46 in his second season in the league. They also have Isaiah Simmons, who hasn’t lived up to his billing as a top-10 draft pick but was a useful depth player for the team last year, earning an 82.7 PFF coverage grade on 203 snaps. — PFF
