Good morning, New York Giants fans!

24 Questions in 24 Days: Giants’ play-calling duties |

“It’s something I’m looking into,” Daboll said at the time. “I think there’s 20 head coaches at this point in time that call plays in the league (either offensively or defensively). … There might be a little bit more. I’ve been doing a bunch of research, but no decision has been made. I’m still going through that process, thinking about what we need to do…I’ll take my time and do what I think is best for the team.”

Speaking of that…..

Ranking NFL team WR, TE, RB talent for 2024: Top players |

In a recent list of NFL team’s wide receiver, tight end, and running back talent for the 2024 season, ESPN’s Bill Barnwell ranked Big Blue 29th in the league.

If Nabers is anything short of spectacular as a rookie, this won’t be a pretty offense. Devin Singletary had a decent 2023 season with the Texans, but it’s going to be much harder for him without C.J. Stroud and a devastatingly efficient passing attack. Darren Waller retired and wasn’t really replaced. I’ve always felt Darius Slayton was underrated and underappreciated as a deep threat, but he’s probably not an every-down receiver in better offenses. I don’t know why Allen Robinson is still in the league. Wan’Dale Robinson has been strictly a gadget guy over his first two seasons, and Jalin Hyatt’s offseason hype has revolved around knowing where to line up before the snap in Year 2.

NFL QB Rankings 2024: Caleb Williams Debuts at No. 20, Brock Purdy Earns Top-10 Spot |

27) Daniel Jones. At this point, his impressive performance in 2022 is an outlier. In his four other seasons as New York’s starter, Jones threw 47 touchdowns to go along with 45 interceptions. Jones’ ability to make plays on his feet is impressive, but the reality is he’s not a great passer. He’ll probably start over Drew Lock, but Jones’ contract is such that New York won’t hesitate to bench him.

Former All-Pro corner: Giants’ Daniel Jones is not ‘impressive,’ and he’s ‘too slow’ |

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has not fazed cornerback Patrick Peterson when they’ve played each other.

Peterson, a three-time All-Pro corner, said he has not been wowed by Jones’ career so far when he described on his podcast “All Things Covered” what it’s like facing him.

Boomer: Seems like Giants feel ‘stuck’ with Daniel Jones |

“You look at the injuries…you then take what Joe Buck said during one of their games when Brian Daboll was lamenting to Joe Buck that he has to be the energy and needs his quarterback to be the energy, and then you take what Rich Eisen said about the Giants being done with Daniel Jones, essentially, they’re stuck with Daniel Jones. As I’m sitting here this morning, that’s how I look at it.”

Bobby Okereke: Giants defense will dominate this year and Shane Bowen is the reason | Pro Football Talk

Okereke thinks Bowen’s style is going to produce very positive results during the 2024 season.

“It’s almost about as 180 of a flip as it can be,” Okereke said. “Going from Wink — I loved that system, attacking, blitzing all the time — to Shane, very methodical, probably one of the most cerebral defensive coordinators I’ve ever been around. Just the way he sees the game, the way he’s gonna call it, the way he coaches it, the attention to detail. Yeah, I think we’re gonna dominate this year, and it’s gonna be led by him.”

Tyrone Tracy: Counting down most impactful NY Giants for 2024 | The Record

I think the Giants could use Tracy the way the Lions used Jahmyr Gibbs, the electric first-round running back who finished his rookie season with 1,216 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns. Could the tandem of David Montgomery and Gibbs in Detroit provide a blueprint for the Giants with Devin Singletary and Tracy?

Tracy was already getting work in spring workouts with the first-team offense and clearly the Giants have an opening not just in the passing game, but as a kickoff returner as well.

Giants would’ve won two straight Super Bowls if not for missing star, ex-running back says |

The Giants beat the Cardinals and Steelers in the regular season without much contribution from Burress, which made Brandon Jacobs believe New York would have beaten both to win the Super Bowl if Plaxico Burress played.

“We whooped them earlier in that season in Arizona, and it was a convincing win for us,” Jacobs said. “I think (the Steelers) were the closest game we had throughout that season, I think we would’ve played them again in the Super Bowl and beat them.”
