Bet builder tip 1: Arsenal to win

After being knocked out of the Europa League by Sporting on penalties in midweek, Arsenal’s only concern now this season is winning the Premier League title.

With Manchester City playing in the FA Cup, the visit of Crystal Palace is a great opportunity for the Gunners to deal Pep Guardiola’s side a psychological blow by extending their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

Palace are in woeful form and without a win in 2023. That run of 12 games lost boss Patrick Vieira his job on Friday. With no permanent replacement appointed, any sort of “new manager bounce” for the south Londoners at the Emirates is out of the question.

Bet builder tip 2: both teams to score – no

It was not just Crystal Palace’s poor results that got Vieira sacked. It was the fact that there was no sign of things improving.

The Eagles went three games without a shot on target before their 1-0 loss to Brighton in midweek, which made it four matches without scoring.

Arsenal, while not having the very best defence in the league, have kept clean sheets in three of their past four top-flight matches – a run we expect to continue against Palace.

Bet builder tip 3: Gabriel Martinelli to score any time

It was Brazil international Gabriel Martinelli’s miss from the spot that decided the penalty shootout in midweek but he is still Arsenal’s man in form.

The 21-year-old has five goals in his past five Premier League games – and with novice Joe Whitworth set to wear the gloves for Palace again, he should be confident of adding to his tally.

Bet builder tip 4: Joachim Andersen to be shown a card

To add some value to our bet builder, we have thrown in Joachim Andersen to be shown a card in what should be a busy afternoon for the Palace centre back.

No other side has had more cautions than Palace this season (65) and the Dane has had three yellows in his past five Premier League appearances.

With Arsenal set to dominate, it would be no surprise to see him receive another booking at the Emirates.
